Students and staff getting aboard a tractor pulled wagon that will take them to the trees.

On Friday, October 6, the students and staff of BLIND, Inc. went apple picking at the Afton Apple Orchard in Hastings Minnesota. We left from the center at 9:15, and arrived at the orchard at 10:00. We visited their store to check out the variety of apples and
We then hopped on a tractor pulled wagon and headed for the trees where we spent a few hours picking apples for ourselves and for the center. Of course, we did have the mandatory taste while we were there. We all were able to buy a variety of apple based foods to bring home.

After a few hours of picking apples, we all went for a well deserved lunch at Kings Bar and Grill in Miesville. The food was excellent.

After lunch, We all returned to the center where the smell of apple pie and other delights will permeate the building for a week while Becky and the Home Management students will be creating great dishes from the apples we brought back.
